Focused Investment In The Sports and Communities We Serve
At ERIK’S, our community support is intentional and structured. Each year, we allocate charitable giving to initiatives that directly strengthen the sports and communities we serve. Our efforts focus on four core pillars: Advocacy, Trail Stewardship, Youth Programming, and Community Development.
By concentrating support in these areas, we ensure meaningful and lasting impact across the regions we serve.
Our Giving Model
ERIK’S charitable partnerships are planned and allocated annually. At this time, we are not accepting unsolicited donation or sponsorship requests.
To ensure we make the greatest impact, ERIK’S prioritizes support within our four pillars. We are committed to investing where we can create a lasting impact on the sports and communities we serve.
We appreciate the organizations, volunteers, and leaders who make riding better for everyone.
Together, we build stronger cycling communities.
MINNESOTA COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Across Minnesota, riders have access to one of the most connected bike networks in the country, with paved and natural surface trails reaching every corner of the state. In the Twin Cities, cyclists enjoy iconic routes like the Midtown Greenway, Grand Rounds Scenic Byway, and Gateway State Trail, offering seamless access for commuting, training, and recreation. Beyond the metro, extensive trail systems continue to expand, including the Paul Bunyan Trail, Mesabi Trail, and Gitchi-Gami State Trail in the north, and the Root River State Trail and Cannon Valley Trail in the south.
Mountain biking continues to grow statewide, with destination trail systems such as Lebanon Hills Mountain Bike Trails, Theodore Wirth Park Trails, Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, and Monarch Single Track offering everything from beginner-friendly flow to advanced technical riding. Youth participation continues to drive the sport’s growth, supported by organizations like the Minnesota Cycling Association, which offers programs from beginner mountain biking skills to after-school programs, day camps, and a cross-country racing series.
The local event calendar reflects the strength of Minnesota’s cycling community, with large-scale rides like the MS 150 Ride Across Minnesota and Twin Cities Bike Tour drawing thousands of participants each year. The Lutsen 99er is the state's top XC single-track event. ERIK’S is proud to support riders at every level—from neighborhood paths to destination trails—helping more people get out and ride across Minnesota.
BIKEMN (BICYCLE ALLIANCE OF MINNESOTA)
In 2008, BikeMN was launched with a commitment to making Minnesota more bike-friendly. BikeMN advocates for bicycle safety, education, and infrastructure improvements, working to ensure everyone can enjoy biking safely and confidently across the state. Their vision is “a Minnesota where every person everywhere can easily walk, bike, and roll as ways to move in daily life.”
BikeMN's current initiatives include education, such as open access to public safety education campaigns; advocacy, including bike-friendly policies, programs, and infrastructure; and community engagement that connects residents, businesses, and educational institutions, fostering walking and biking through uplifting events.
ERIK'S has supported BikeMN from the start. We're proud to contribute to BikeMN's safety education efforts and to service their bikes every spring to make sure they're ready for another year of fun and learning.
BikeMNMINNESOTA CYCLING ASSOCIATION (MCA)
The Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA) was launched in 2012 as a way to get more kids on bikes. They're devoted to building strong minds, bodies, and characters in student-athletes from grades 6 to 12.
The MCA's initiatives include Trailcrafters, which provides opportunities for trail advocacy and maintenance, and the GRRLS outreach program, which is dedicated to attracting and retaining female student-athletes, coaches, and volunteers. While the MCA does boast a popular racing series, their youth development programs go well beyond racing, with Try It Out sessions that introduce young cyclists to mountain biking and a “Dirt School” that teaches students the basics of bike handling, repair, and maintenance.
Guided by the principles of inclusivity and equality, they now have over 2,600 cyclists and 1,300 coaches participating, all working toward a thriving and engaged cycling community! ERIK'S is proud to have been a founding supporter of this league in Minnesota.
MN Cycling AssocationLITTLE BELLAS
Little Bellas is a national organization mentoring young girls through the sport of mountain biking. Launched in 2007, “Little Bellas creates opportunities for girls to experience success using mountain biking as the platform and pathway to personal growth, building community, and competency,” according to their website. (The website also mentions that the name comes from a women's riding club in Vermont called “Bellaship of the Wheel”!)
Over the years, Little Bellas has built a curriculum based on experiential learning, expanded its infrastructure, and emphasized the importance of teamwork and goal-setting. From 2007 to 2022, the organization served more than 8,500 young female riders.
