Focused Investment In The Sports and Communities We Serve
At ERIK’S, our community support is intentional and structured. Each year, we allocate charitable giving to initiatives that directly strengthen the sports and communities we serve. Our efforts focus on four core pillars: Advocacy, Trail Stewardship, Youth Programming, and Community Development.
By concentrating support in these areas, we ensure meaningful and lasting impact across the regions we serve.
Our Giving Model
ERIK’S charitable partnerships are planned and allocated annually. At this time, we are not accepting unsolicited donation or sponsorship requests.
To ensure we make the greatest impact, ERIK’S prioritizes support within our four pillars. We are committed to investing where we can create a lasting impact on the sports and communities we serve.
We appreciate the organizations, volunteers, and leaders who make riding better for everyone.
Together, we build stronger cycling communities.
IOWA COMMUNITY SUPPORT
In Des Moines, riders enjoy one of the most expansive paved trail networks in the Midwest, supported by a strong and growing cycling community. Signature routes like the High Trestle Trail, Raccoon River Valley Trail, and the Neal Smith Trail connect the metro area with scenic, rider-friendly miles ideal for commuting, training, and long-distance recreational riding.
While Des Moines is known for its paved infrastructure, off-road riding continues to grow with local trail access at Banner Lakes, Summerset State Park, Fourmile, and Center Trails, offering a mix of approachable and progressive singletrack. Continued investment in cycling infrastructure and accessibility is supported nationally by organizations like PeopleForBikes.
The region is also home to some of the most iconic cycling events in the country, including the ERIK’S Mega Demo Tour and RAGBRAI, bringing riders together from across the country. ERIK’S is proud to support the Des Moines cycling community—helping more people get out and ride.
PEOPLE FOR BIKES
People for Bikes makes cycling better for everyone by uniting riders, businesses, and communities to make every bike ride safer, more accessible, and more fun. The coalition has more than 325 supplier members and 1.4 million supporters in its grassroots network.
People for Bikes focuses on three pillars: infrastructure, with its nationwide Great Bike Infrastructure Project; policy, with government interventions in the areas of transportation, mobility, and recreation; and participation, especially with its One Ride at a Time climate solution efforts.
