Redeeming Your Rebate at ERIK’S

If you're one of the lucky winners, upon receiving your rebate certificate via email, you can visit ERIK’S or any participating retailer to redeem it. The certificate significantly reduces the cost of your new e-bike, offering savings of 75% up to $750 off the cost of a new e-bike. Eligibility and Rebate Details
Minnesota taxpayers residing in the state who are over 15 and not dependents are eligible for this e-bike rebate. The rebate is worth 75% of the cost of an e-bike and qualifying accessories, up to a maximum of $750.
Starting in 2025, applicants must be under a certain income level or have a disability to qualify for the e-bike rebate program. To qualify under the income limit, your 2024 adjusted gross income (AGI) must be less than:
- $78,000 for married filing jointly
- $62,000 for head of household
- $41,000 for all other individuals
To qualify as an individual with a disability, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits
- Receive Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD)
- Be under the age of 65 and receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Receive home and community-based disability waiver services
All e-bikes sold at ERIK'S qualify for this program. The rebate can also be applied to qualifying accessories, which must be purchased at the same time as the e-bike and include helmets, lights, locks, luggage racks, baskets, bags/backpacks, fenders, and reflective clothing.

Applying for the E-Bike Rebate in Minnesota
The online application for individuals to apply for an e-bike rebate certificate will open at 11 a.m. CST on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The application portal will remain open until 2 p.m. CST on Thursday, August 7. Check this website for the application link after the portal opens on July 30.
Applicants will be informed within a two-week period (i.e., before August 21) whether they're been selected and approved for a rebate, denied, or placed on a waitlist. After the initial round of rebates have been issued, the Minnesota Department of Revenue will assess how much of the $2 million allotment is remaining in the program, and additional rebates may be issued.
Applicants will need to provide the following information when applying for the e-bike rebate:
- Name and contact information
- Date of birth
- Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
- Tax filing status for 2024
- Adjusted gross income for 2024 (see line 1 of your 2024 Minnesota Form M1, Individual Income Tax, or line 11 of your 2024 federal Form 1040)
- Information about disability status
Winning applicants selected through a random lottery will receive the rebate certificate by email. They will then have two months to go to an eligible retailer (like ERIK’S!) and purchase a discounted e-bike and accessories. The rebate certificate must be presented at the time of purchase.
