    Chains are matched to your drivetrain's speed count. A 7 speed chain won't shift properly on an 11 speed cassette, and vice versa. ERIK'S carries chains across the full range of speeds, along with single speed and BMX chains for bikes without derailleurs. Electric bike specific chains are also available, built with added strength to handle the extra torque from a motor.

    Key Features to Look For

    • Speed Compatibility Always match your new chain to your drivetrain's speed count, such as 9 speed, 11 speed, or 12 speed, for proper shifting.

    • Chain Length Chains typically need to be sized to your specific frame and drivetrain. Our techs can measure and cut it correctly.

    • Coating and Durability Nickel plated or coated chains resist rust and wear better than standard chains, especially for riders in wet climates.

    • Master Links Also called quick links, these make chain removal and cleaning far easier, and most modern chains include or support one.

    • Wear Indicators If you're not sure whether it's time to replace your chain, a chain wear tool, or a quick check from our techs, can tell you before it damages other drivetrain parts.
