The Cervélo Soloist is making a triumphant return! Perhaps Cervélo’s most famous bike, the Soloist combines the best features of the S5 and R5 into a truly great all-around race bike. It is just as capable on climbs as it is on descents and flat ground, supports mechanical or electronic shifting, and is designed for ease of maintenance.
It comes in 250 grams lighter than the S5 and significantly more aerodynamic than the R5. Not everyone can support having multiple bikes, especially if you’re an amateur racer on the go. The Soloist is your perfect all-around race bike that can be used for much more!
Fine Frame
As we mentioned above, the design of the Soloist combines elements from a couple of Cervélo’s other elite bikes to create something familiar and more well-rounded than ever. The frame comes in at 920 grams, while the fork is 345 grams (when looking at the 56cm size) and supports up to 34mm tires. If aerodynamics are more your thing, the Soloist is 126 grams faster than the R5, frame to frame. Part of those aerodynamic savings are thanks to a new seatpost design that, you guessed it, is lighter than the S5 post and more aero than the R5 post. They managed to make the bike lighter AND more aero. The best of both worlds.
Beautiful Builds
The Cervélo Soloist will be available in six different component builds as well as a frameset: four with 2x12 electronic shifting and two with 2x11 mechanical shifting so you can get the exact group that you want. Make sure to check out all the builds! Depending on the specific build, the Soloist will be available in three striking colors: embers, alpenglow, and gold dust.
Ease of Maintenance
As we mentioned earlier, doing stem and bar swaps is now easier than ever with the Soloist while still keeping a superb look and aerodynamics at the front end. The cables go directly into the headset cap and down to the rest of the bike without going through the bars or stem. Another great change is the addition of a threaded bottom bracket, which requires less maintenance and makes that maintenance much easier than on a press-fit bottom bracket.
