Specialized has also updated the model labeling system of the Sirrus X for 2020! Previously, there were only a couple of models of the super-capable Sirrus X. Now, you will see that Sirrus X is offered in a 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 version with the models getting more advanced as the numbers get bigger.
Starting with the Sirrus X 2.0, let’s walk through the lineup. Sirrus X 2.0 features a lightweight, A1 Aluminum Alloy frame with clean internally routed cables and a rugged steel fork. This frame comes in at 3.5 pounds lighter than the Specialized Crosstrail, a similar bike from the Specialized catalog! Powerful hydraulic brakes confidently stop the Sirrus X 2.0, and the simple 1×8-speed Microshift drivetrain keeps you going forward. 700x42c tires keep you firmly connected to the ground.
Next up is Sirrus X 3.0! The 3.0 shares the same lightweight, A1 Aluminum Alloy frame with clean internally routed cables as the 2.0, but you get an upgrade to an A1 Aluminum Alloy fork on 3.0! This fork will save you 1.6 pounds, making the bike even lighter and faster! The drivetrain moves up to a 1×9 system for even more gear selection when you need it, and the 700x42c tires roll over bumps and rocks with ease!
The Future is in the Sirrus X 4.0! Well, maybe not the WHOLE future, but definitely the Future Shock! With 20mm for travel located above the headtube, the Future Shock 1.5 soaks up all of the bumps while keeping your wheel firmly on the ground. Add to the A1 Aluminum Alloy frame with clean internally routed cables and an upgraded carbon fiber fork, and you drop 1.6 pounds off of the Sirrus X 3.0! You’ll be hard-pressed to find any other hybrids with a front suspension at a lower weight (until you look at the 5.0). An upgraded Shimano Deore 1×10 drivetrain and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes round out what makes the Sirrus X 4.0 a fantastic machine at a great price!
And now we get to the Sirrus X 5.0! With a FACT 9r Carbon Fiber frame, the Sirrus X 5.0 is a full 2.2 pounds lighter than the 4.0! Not only that, but the carbon fiber frame will give you a smoother ride and provide better energy transfer! Sirrus X 5.0 offers the same Future Shock 1.5 of the 4.0 to aid in that comfort and confidence that we talked about earlier! The AXIS rims and Pathfinder tires are tubeless-ready and willing to go anywhere you point them, and the Shimano SLX drivetrain will deliver fast, smooth shifts every time.
