The Turbo Como lineup of e-bikes from Specialized redefines what it means to be a comfort e-bike!
What sets the Como apart from other comfort e-bikes on the market is the fact that Como was designed, from the ground up, as a complete bicycle.
While many e-bikes are essentially “regular” bikes with a motor strapped to them, from the very beginning of development the Specialized Como has been designed as an electric bike. The result is a bike that feels and handles like a comfortable, balanced bike with all of the amazing advantages of an e-bike with no compromises.
All-new Turbo Como models feature a built-in cycling computer that allows riders to view important information about their ride—information like assistance mode, battery level, speed, distance, and even more advanced information like cadence and rider power output.
This computer, known as the TCD-w, can even wirelessly connect to the Specialized Mission Control app on iOS and Android devices to further enhance the experience. Mission Control allows riders to control the range of the Como, customize the motor parameters, record and upload rides, and even perform basic system diagnosis.
All Turbo Como models feature smooth-rolling 650b x 2.3″ wheels and tires. These tires are wide enough to be grippy, stable, and comfortable, but they also feature a tread that is going to roll nice and easy down the pavement.
Many people are curious about how far an e-bike will go on a charge, and this is important information! The reality is that it’s tough to nail down a solid number due to all the factors that are involved. Rider weight, cargo weight, riding terrain, outside temperature, and headwind speed all factor into an e-bike’s range. Even the rider’s cadence will have an impact on how long a battery will last. (Did you know that a cadence—i.e., the RPM of your pedals—of 70-100 is optimal for motor performance and battery life?) The Specialized Turbo Calculator will give you a good idea about what you can expect to get out of your Turbo Como.
The upright and comfortable body position, thanks to the ergonomic seat known as “The Cup,” will keep your eyes on the road ahead and your body feeling fresh throughout the ride.
Here’s a quick rundown of the Turbo Como family of bikes:
Como 3.0
Kicking off the Turbo Como family is the Como 3.0, which comes equipped with front and rear lights and a top speed of 20 mph. With its 460Wh battery and 1.2E motor, Como 3.0 will keep you moving down the path for miles of smiles.
Turbo Como 3.0 is available in both standard and low entry frames.
Como 4.0
Moving up to the Turbo Como 4.0, you still get front and rear lights but you now get fenders to boot! The top assisted speed also increases to 28 mph, and the battery is increased to 500Wh, giving you a little more range because of the larger capacity. Add to that the 1.3 motor and the Turbo Como 4.0 will deliver just a little more oomph and a slightly quieter ride.
Turbo Como 4.0 is also available in standard and low entry frames.
Como 5.0
When you choose the Turbo Como 5.0, you get the same 1.3 motor and 28 mph top assisted speed as the 4.0, but your battery is increased to the 605Wh battery for even more range. You also get fenders, front and rear lights, and a sweet Pizza Rack in front.
Just like the other Turbo Como models, Como 5.0 is available in both standard and low entry frames.
