All new for 2020, the Specialized Fuse is rowdier than ever!
The Specialized Fuse was originally designed with adventure in mind. Available with 27.5+ tires and a geometry focused on stability over maneuverability. As an “Adventure” bike, The Fuse was a shining star! This was an AMAZING bike! But, the newest version is even !
Now, the focus for The Fuse has shifted over to the trail. The types of trails that would throw other hardtails into the woods. Kind of, a Stumpjumper without the rear shock!
Specialized lengthened the reach for a more even distribution of the weight, slackened the head tube angle for increased confidence on descents, and steepened the seat tube angle for more climbing prowess. This Trail Bike is ready to slay!
Also new for 2020 is 130mm of travel in the fork, compared to 120mm in previous versions. This extra 10mm of travel, combined with the slacker head tube and reduced offset fork, give you a bike that is a breeze to steer with plenty of travel to attack even the gnarliest drops!
All of the new Fuse models get Wide 780mm handlebars, short 45mm stems, 1x drivetrains, and Boost Spacing with burly thru-axles!
Fuse now comes in both 29er and 27.5+ versions! Want nimble and precise handling on the trail? Grab a 29er with the M4 Alloy frame! Want tons of traction with a calm planted feel on the rocks and roots? Opt for the plus rig with the A1 frame! There’s even a frame-only option for the ultimate custom build!
M4 or A1? What’s the difference? The M4 alloy is a super strong and high-grade aluminum alloy. This allows the engineers Specialized to manipulate the shapes and thicknesses of the tubes more than they can with the A1 alloy. The result is a lighter bike with more uniquely shaped frame parts like the sliding dropouts. But, don’t get me wrong, the A1 alloy is an amazing material that Specialized has been using for years!
Either frame that you choose, all of the frames are compatible with both 29er or 27.5+ wheels so you should probably just choose one and build yourself a second wheelset with the OTHER size and have the ultimate choice!
A super cool feature of the Expert 29 and Comp 29 models is that the M4 Alloy frames feature adjustable dropouts. This allows you to both run the bike as a single speed if you prefer or to fine-tune the handling of the bike. Longer for more stability, shorter for a response!
