2023 Rocky Mountain Solo Features Review

Rocky Mountain gave this bike an overhaul this year. They dropped the bottom bracket, slacked out the front end, and extended the reach of the bike to give it a more modern geometry for the adventure rider.

The Solo will be available in a carbon frame in 2023. Smoothwall carbon technology has allowed Rocky Mountain to eliminate material and fine-tune the types of carbon used in specific areas. This build process maximizes stiffness and minimizes the overall weight of the frame. Additionally, it allows for increased vertical compliance in the unique seat tube to increase rider comfort.

The RMB 6061 alloy frame is no slouch, though, giving the rider a balance of strength, weight, and value. It also delivers the same tire clearance, accessory mounts, and ride qualities.

Both the carbon and alloy models feature the same full-carbon fork, with rubber fork protectors to keep your bike protected during gear swaps or trailside repairs.

The Rocky Mountain Solo is compatible with 2x, Di2, and a full-length dropper post. This allows you to really tune the Rocky Mountain Solo to do whatever it is you want to do, whether you’re riding path, singletrack, or multi-day bike adventures. Fully enclosed internal cable routing gives a clean and simple look to the bike.
