The Specialized Epic has long been known as one of the most dominant bikes in the full-suspension cross-country race game. And, with the evolution of the Epic EVO, Specialized expanded the definition of what Cross Country means. Now, riders have a more affordable option in the Epic EVO Base model! Now, Specialized has released the Epic EVO Base model, enabling more riders to experience the magic that is the Epic EVO!

The Epic Evo base model is stacked with these awesome features…

11m Carbon Fiber Frame

With a FACT 11m carbon fiber frame, the Epic EVO gives riders a lightweight frame that is fast and nimble. Don’t let the “base” nomenclature throw you off. This is no “budget” bike! Epic EVO base shares the frame as the Pro, Expert, and Comp models. The same materials, the same Progressive XC Geometry, the same Rider-First philosophy. The same everything! Only the S-Works Epic Evo has a “better” frame!

Flip Chip

Just like all of the other Epic EVO models, this frame features a suspension flip-chip that allows you as the rider to customize the suspension to how YOU want your Epic EVO to handle! When the flip-chip is set in the low position, Epic EVO sits on a 66.5° head angle. Flip it to the high setting and your head angle is 67° and your bottom bracket is raised 6mm giving you more downhill prowess!

RockShox Suspension

Keeping the front wheel firmly planted on the ground is a RockShox Reba RL suspension fork with 120mm of travel and features the stable Motion Control damper and SoloAir adjustability. Out back is the RockShox Delux Select+ shock with a Specialized Rx Xc tune, specifically dialed into the kinematics of the Epic EVO by the suspension team at Specialized!

Shimano SLX Drivetrain

Propelling the Epic EVO Base forward is the trusted and reliable Shimano SLX 12-Speed, 1X drivetrain. This amazing drivetrain takes the groundbreaking performance of the higher-end Shimano XTR drivetrain and delivers it to more folks. The 32t chainring and 10-51 cassette combo delivers a 510% gear range to get you up any hill with enough speed to fly through the flat stuff!
