Ready to Ride All-Day

The new Vado features a “Fitness/Transportation” geometry that puts your body in a position that is both fast and efficient without being too aggressive. Compared to the Specialized Como, you are more forward-leaning.

With that said, it is by no means an aggressive body position. Expect to be able to ride miles and miles without feeling like you’re too hunched over.

The front suspension fork and suspension seat post (on 4.0 and 5.0 models) smooth out the ride even more, on any road or path you may take.

All new Drive System & Battery

The Vado is powered by an all-new drive system that delivers power when you need it.

The 2.2 motor (found on the 5.0 model) has a max output of 90NM. The 2.0 motor (found on the 4.0 model) has 50NM. The 2.0E motor (found on the 2.0 model) has a max output of 50NM. All of this is to say that these bikes have the on-demand power you need.

The new 710wh battery on the 4.0 and 5.0 and the 530wh battery on the 3.0 model have a range of up to 90 miles. These will be able to keep you charged up and pedaling strong throughout your day.

Easily charge the new, most compact battery on or off the bike with a new lockable quick-release mechanism.

IGH and Gate Drive System – Coming soon

The new Vado comes in a traditional chain drive model or the Internal Gear Hub (IGH) model which ERIK’S will be carrying soon. While they do weigh more than the traditional chain and rear derailleur setup, the benefits are cleaner gearing leading to less maintenance and more durability, stepless shifting, and better performance in the winter months.  The 5.0 model has automatic shifting which allows you to focus on the ride and not on the gears.

With the stepless IGH system, there are no true gears, instead, as you move the shifter it increases the gear inches smoothly with no indexed points in between, leading to much smoother shifting. The Vado 3.0 and 4.0 have a manual twist shifter, with no click and no gear indicator. There is an icon that helps remind you to twist forward when going uphill and backward when going downhill. The TCD display will show you your approximate gearing.

The Vado 5.0, with its automatic shifting, will allow you to choose your preferred pedal cadence and will make the shifts as needed to keep you in that cadence. This is the perfect choice for riders who just want to ride and who love technology.

The Gates carbon belt never needs lubrication and can handle the elements, including the winter elements much better than a chain.

Tires to Take You Everywhere

The new Specialized Vado rolls on 650b by 2.3″ tires keep you confident in almost any road or trail condition. These tires are wide enough to be grippy, stable, and comfortable, but smooth enough to not slow you down!

Easily Sync With the Mission Control App to Ride Even Smarter

3 phones displaying mission control app.

The new Specialized Vado is compatible with the Mission Control app. It allows you to fully tune your motor output, view your riding metrics, and perform basic system diagnostics.

Most importantly, Mission Control lets you fight Range Anxiety by using the Spart Control feature. Simply tell Mission Control how far you want to go or how long you want to ride, and Smart Control will adjust your motor output so that you get back with plenty of juice left in the tank!

Pick Your Ride for How You Ride

With the internal gear hub options, Gates belt drive, and automatic shifting on some models (coming to ERIK’S soon), you can easily pick the new Vado model that can keep up with your needs. Not only are these hubs less maintenance because the shifting bits are tucked up inside the hub, but they also allow you to shift instantly, unlike bikes with a rear derailleur that require you to pedal to change gears. So, if you come to a stop but forget to shift into an easy gear, simply make the shift, and you’re ready to pedal!

Ride Safer With Integrated Front and Rear Lights!

On the safety side of things, integrated front and rear lights illuminate the road in front of you and let those behind you know that you’re there. And that heads-up riding position lets you keep your eyes on the road.

Another Layer of Safety – RADAR

The new Specialized Vado comes with a Garmin Varia radar system hardwired to the rear rack. This advanced light system lets you know when cars are approaching from the rear.

Turbo System Lock

Enabled via the mission control app, the Turbo System Lock provides another layer of security to go along with your physical bike lock. The system lock disables the motor and activates the bike’s motion sensor. When triggered, it will sound an alarm and flash the lights until you disable it through the Mission Control app or enter a unique pin.

New Updated Display

With the sleek new computer nestled on the handlebars, you can easily display the information you want. The Cadence Coach will help you stay in the perfect cadence zone to get all you can out of your bike. With on-the-fly microtuner, you can also change your bike as you ride – without accessing the app.

The new display is customizable through the Mission Control app as well.
