Here at ERIK’S we’re super excited to announce the addition of SCOR Bikes to our premier brands! SCOR is a mountain bike brand based in Switzerland and its current line includes trail, enduro, and electric mountain bikes. SCOR’s ethos is all about having fun while riding, which I think everyone can get behind. They design their bikes with this in mind, creating playful, yet elegant and confidence-inspiring bikes that allow you to be as creative as you want!
SCOR was born out of pure passion; a weekend project of some designers and engineers at parent company BMC. While BMC is well known for its high-performance road and cross-country bikes, trail and gravity bikes were conspicuously missing. Once the weekend project turned more serious it became apparent that these new designs could take on a life (and brand) of their own. A couple of years, a few prototypes, and an all-new shock linkage design later, SCOR was born.
All SCOR bikes use their Lower-Link Activated Suspension giving the bike a plush feel at the top for all-time grip and getting more progressive through the travel to support you on those big sends. They also use a full carbon frame, including the rear triangle, which can’t be said for all carbon mountain bikes. The analog bike frames include a stash box in the downtube with an extra derailleur hanger, just in case. Touches like that that show these bikes were made by riders, for riders. Perhaps the coolest thing about these frames is they all have a flip-chip in the linkage and two-position headset cups that allow you to change between the long and short travel setups, provided you have some extra suspension lying around or like playing with your geometry.
SCOR sells e-versions of their bikes that keep the same geometry as their analog counterparts so no matter which one you get, you will know you’re getting the intended experience. Look out for models with a ‘Z’ in their name if you’re on the hunt for a SCOR eBike. SCOR uses the Shimano STEPS EP8 motor which is compact, helping the designers keep the geometry consistent, without compromising on power. The battery on the eBike models is sleekly integrated into the downtube with enough capacity to give you all-day stamina.
In the spirit of fun, SCOR has partnered with the French brand, Slicy, to make custom frame protectors for their 4060 bike lines. SCOR sells their designs on their website or you can even upload your own design on Slicy’s site for a complete custom set that’s the perfect fit for your bike! The ultimate customization so you and your bike can show off who you are.
If you’re looking to send it big, explore the trails, or have fun on your bike, look no further than SCOR. Now that you’re hopefully as stoked as we are on this new brand, you’ll want to check some out! Look for them in your local ERIK’S or online at shopERIKS.com!
