The All-New Specialized S-Works Evade II Helmet

Specialized has just released the S-Works Evade II helmet, an updated version of the very popular S-Works Evade. The helmet is significant because it is lightweight, well-ventilated, and aero. Typically helmets can do two of those characteristics well, but not all three. At least that was the case until the Specialized Evade II.

The Evade II is the fastest road helmet that Specialized has tested in their Win Tunnel – and they’ve tested a lot of them. They went through many prototypes to develop the aerodynamically fastest shape they could.

For ventilation, Specialized uses its 4 Dimension Cooling System with deep internal channels, large vents, and aligned exhaust ports to keep your head cool. While designing for improved ventilation, they also made sure vents and channels were optimized for speed. The end result is a helmet that actually cools as well as not wearing a helmet at all.

On top of its aero shape and ventilation, the Evade II is lightweight. It may not seem like much, but Specialized was able to make this helmet 6 seconds faster over 40km when compared to the original Evade – an already fast helmet.

The Evade II uses patented Energy Optimized Multi-Density EPS construction and a patented Aramid-Reinforced Skeleton to manage impact energy. This allows for large and radical vents while still protecting your head.

Another feature of the Evade II is the Gutter Action brow pad for increased comfort and sweat management. (You want to see where you are going when you’re going this fast!!!)

The Evade II is a helmet that’s aerodynamic, well-ventilated, and lightweight. Once again, Specialized shows why it produces the top cycling products in the industry.
