What is Great Bear Ski Valley?

Great Bear is the largest park in Sioux Falls featuring winter sports activities for the whole family just minutes from downtown. The park is home to 14 downhill trails, a terrain park, the Kirby Family Tubing Park, and cross-country and snowshoeing trails that provide fun and excitement for all skill levels.

How has Great Bear been impacted by Covid-19?

As a ski area, we are used to adjusting to change. COVID-19 has encouraged many families to get outside and this winter will be no different! We have over 1,000 season pass holders and many more locals and guests who are eager to hit the snow.

What changes has Great Bear made in response to Covid-19?

This winter, we are encouraging social distancing, good hygiene, and requiring face masks so we can ensure a safe, long season! We have also invested in new technologies and products to keep our chalet clean and limit contact when we can, including through our new website.

Is Great Bear kid-friendly?

Yes! Winter enthusiasts of all ages are welcome. Children aged 5 and under get a free lift ticket and equipment rental with a paid adult or ski lesson (starting at 4 yrs old). We recommend children 6 and up go tubing as well! Great Bear is a great place to learn and practice how to ski and snowboard. We have equipment rentals and a great team of instructors to teach you!
