Garmin 530 and 830 Cycling Computers

Garmin has just released their newest cycling computers, the Edge 530 and the Edge 830 and, doggy, are these things cool!

First, let’s start with how these new devices are different. That’s quite simple! The Edge 830 has a touch screen that allows for Point of Interest searching and on-device route planning. The Edge 530 doesn’t have those features. That’s it! The Edge 530 and Edge 830 share the rest of the features!

One huge improvement to these computers is battery life. You can expect to get up to 20 hours of battery life out of a charge! Both the Edge 530 and the Edge 830 are compatible with the Garmin Charge Power Pack which will extend the battery range up to 44 hours!

The display size has also been increased by 13% over the previous versions, making the screen even easier to see!

The Garmin Edge 530 and 830 computers feature full maps for not only paved and gravel roads but Garmin has partnered with Trailforks to include off-road trails from all over the world with a really cool Foresight mode that will give you a heads up on upcoming forks in the trail! Trailforks will also provide a difficulty rating for the trails.

Have you ever wondered how Rad you got on your ride? Well, wonder no more! Your Edge 530 and Edge 830 will tell you your jump count, your jump distance, and even your hang time! They will also tell your Flow Score to tell you how you ripped that descent so that you can work on buttering up those berms next time!

Do you have trouble remembering to hydrate or fuel your body during a ride or workout? No worries! The Edge 530 and Edge 830 can be configured to send you reminders to eat or drink to keep you on top of your nutrition when you have other things keeping your brain occupied!

Out on the road, the Edge 530 and Edge 830 offer the ClimbPro feature to show the remaining ascent and grade for your climb along with heat and altitude acclimation stats to help gauge how your body is handling your training!

Add to all these features the ride and incident tracking and even a sensor that will send you a text message if your bike is moved while you dip into the coffee shop for a refuel along with a Where’s My Edge function that will help you find a lost device due to a crash or eagle attack!

Check out these features and all the rest (way too many to list in one blog post) at your local ERIK’S location or at shopERIKS.com!
