The Dakota Rail Regional Trail is a 30 mile long paved, relatively flat, easy to ride scenic trail that winds through the Western suburbs passing through the towns of St. Bonifacius, Minnetrista, Mound, Spring Park, Minnetonka Beach, Orono and Wayzata.
Perfect for newer cyclists, those with kids in tow, or anyone wanting to get out in nature without having to travel to far from the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St.Paul area), the Dakota Rail Trail is a must-ride, especially during the warmer months.

The Dakota Rail Regional Trail is part of the Three Rivers Park System. A fun place to begin your ride is Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista, MN. Gale Woods Farm features parking, a visitor center, picnic tables, a farm store where you can purchase snacks, and even farm animals to say hi to!
Swing by your local ERIK’S (our Minnetonka and St. Louis Park shops are not too far from several of the Dakota Trailhead options) to get your bike tuned and to grab any gear you may need and then get out there discover why the Dakota Rail Regional Trail is one of the best bike trails in Minnesota!
