K2 Downhill Rocker Snowboards at Erik's Bike and Board

The word "Rocker" is a common term you see and hear about when shopping for downhill skis. Rocker is the latest shaping technology for building skis or snowboards. 
But, what is it?  Lets look at Camber technology first.  Camber is the traditional shape - a slight arching upward curve with the bend or curve upward in the middle.

Rocker (also called reverse-camber) Now, take Camber and reverse it. Imagine the ski tip and tail are turned up. By turning up the tip, this relieves the
pressure on the snow, resulting in a smoother ride and making it easier to balance on in rough terrain. And, by rockering, or turning the tip and the tail, the result
is a snowboard that's easier to pivot and less grabby on the snow. So, take your rocker snowboard anywhere - get superior float in powder or go all over the mountain.

rocker.

Rocker allows effortless turns on hardpack but also provides
ample float in softer snow and crud. A setback stance and
medium rise through the tip and a lower rise in the tail
